The Transistor - a revolutionary component for hearing instrument technology
As hearing aids became smaller – mainly due to the use of transistors – the next challenge was to attach the instrument closer to the ear.
Once miniaturized components became available, ideas such as accommodating hearing aids in eyeglass frames could be realized.
As a result of these new developments, the popularity of pocket hearing aids gradually declined.
